Born in Paris in 1979, Alexandra Karamisaris is an actress, screenwriter, and producer who has built her career despite her dyslexia.

She first discovered the stage in 1989 at the Boris-Vian Foundation in Paris. She acted, directed plays, and taught theater in her hometown from 1998 until her departure for Switzerland in 2003.

In 2006, after graduating from Les Teintureries in Lausanne, she worked as an actress in French-speaking Switzerland, notably starring in 2009 in the first feature film by Séverine Cornamusaz, Cœur Animal.

In 2008, having graduated with a major in dramaturgy from the University of Lausanne, she decided to discover the other side of the camera. She returned to Paris in 2009 to study filmmaking at Paris 1 – Panthéon-Sorbonne University, where she obtained a Master’s degree in Cinema in 2016.

She has directed short films : We'll Make it Through Together (2025), The Swirl of Life (2015) and most notably Colette and the Room B-12 (2016), which was selected for numerous European festivals, such as Drama or Tirana.

Since 2020, she has been producing documentaries for the company Dreampixies.​
